Kim Barsi is founder and principal story-teller at Storyboard PR, one of the Bay Area's top independent PR boutiques.
Storyboard PR is one of the industry's top independent PR agencies, working with businesses that range from stealth mode to late-stage startups to established players looking for a more scrappy solution. Our services are infused with high-level strategic counsel and designed to help our clients achieve their business goals.
Founder and chief story-teller Kim Barsi is a seasoned communications professional with more than 20 years of agency and client-side high tech PR experience. Whether launching a fledgling software startup – such as GoInstant (acquired by Salesforce.com in 2012) – or managing a full-service program for a highly recognized Internet company – such as TRUSTe – Kim is 110 percent committed to bringing the same high quality to every single PR campaign.
The team’s dedication shows. In seven years of business, Storyboard PR has gained a reputation for getting big results for small companies, by maintaining a fine balance of strategy and execution – and above all, by keeping its eye on the ball.
Working closely with well-known technology executives and leading VCs, such as Freestyle Capital, as well as young entrepreneurs just starting out in the biz, Storyboard PR has a breadth and depth of experience spanning mobile, privacy management, Internet software, social media and cloud computing. In every industry, each client’s story starts with articulate and precise messaging customized for consumer, business and technology audiences.
At Storyboard PR, we value relationships first and foremost – with our clients, the press and analyst community, social media bloggers, technology gurus of today and tomorrow – as well as the barista at the coffee shop on the corner and the neighbor next door.
Before founding Storyboard PR, Kim was senior vice president of Blanc & Otus, where she provided strategic counsel to select clients, including Facebook, Disney, Hitachi Data Systems, and Blu-ray Disc Association, and served as digital entertainment practice leader. Prior to Blanc & Otus, Kim served as vice president of Waggener Edstrom, representing numerous divisions of Microsoft Corporation over her 10 year tenure there, including international PR strategy and the largest of industry partnerships.
Technology companies looking for a smarter, more economical way to elevate their market profile have a trusted partner in Storyboard PR -- an independent consultancy with the experience and track-record to match even the largest and most reputable agencies but without all the fat. Our nimble approach and unwavering focus on you insures a results-oriented outcome at a fraction of the cost.
At Storyboard PR, we emphasize the importance of calibrating our approach for the most powerful result. It is a quality-driven approach that sets Storyboard PR apart from our counterparts at agencies that do publicity for publicity’s sake. We pride ourselves in growing and maintaining critical media and analyst relationships and developing creative initiatives tailored to our clients’ business plans and needs.
All of this focused knowledge and know-how leads to results in the form of successful media and analyst briefings and placements; results which drive lead generation; results that satisfy investors; and, results that support our clients’ business objectives and builds their brands. We seek clients who are true partners, because we take pride in contributing to their success.
Why Us? Storyboard PR thinks about:
Your business – the opportunities, the challenges, the threats, the highest-priority objectives. With Storyboard PR, you get a strategic partner versus a tactical “yes” man. The industry – what it takes to win and make an impact. With Storyboard PR, you get an aggressive, passionate and focused team that thinks on its feet and makes things happen. The influencers – their methods, their needs, who they reach, how to reach them. With Storyboard PR, you get a valuable mix of traditional PR and social media. The bottom-line – expectations are set, deadlines are met and promises kept. With Storyboard PR, you get consistent, candid and open communication, which all leads to our “no surprises” rule. Having fun – because at the end of the day, if you’re not having fun at what you’re doing and with the people you’re doing it with, what’s the point anyway?
